The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums has some issues with flooring that is not clean. It may be unable to see pet hair or small items, and it tends to bump into things - such as its own charger that sits on its base for charging. It is also not as quiet and the whirring noise can be distracting like other models.

Roborock V3S pro

This robot doesn't have as many features as the more expensive ones we've tested, but it does have the basics covered. It has a large dust bin that can hold a large amount of dirt before it needs to be emptied. The vacuum and mop system is ideal for hard floors and carpets with low pile. It's also extremely quiet. We were able watch TV while it cleaned without feeling as though we were being constantly bombarded by the sound.

Our test participants were extremely pleased with how easy the machine was to operate and set up. They also appreciated its ability to eliminate all the messes that had accumulated on their floors. It even did a pretty excellent job of removing pet hair and messes from carpeting, but it wasn't as successful in tackling stubborn stuck-on stains. The users found the app to be user-friendly and intuitive, and they could schedule the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to cut down on the amount they had to do manually. The only downside is that it does not have any mapping technology or object avoidance technology, so you can't direct it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips work).
